18th Century Norwegian, figural lion thumbpiece tankard with lid, dated 1799, burled birch wood, together with a later pewter example, first: 8 1/2"w x 5 7/8"d x 9 3/8"h

Condition
First example: Lid detaches and has a split in the wood from age. Remnants of adhesive near the part that connects to the lid to keep it on. A couple of small age cracks to body rim, one small chip to handle, and chips/small losses to two of the feet. Otherwise baseic good condition considering the age.
Second example: Some light surface scratches in areas throughout and some surface first. Overall very good condition. Chain attached to lion thumb piece with wire, for suspension purposes in the bar. Base stamped: 0146 / Vestinn / Pewter / Made in / Norway.
