AMERICAN OR ENGLISH LATE CLASSICAL CARVED MAHOGANY PIANO STOOL, circular fixed seat over an ornate standard, raised on a tripodal base with cabriole legs having foliate carved knees and stylized feet, impressed serial numbers to under side of seat, iron attachment plate to underside of seat marked "HB" with serial numbers. Old surface with rich color. Mid 19th century. 20" H, 12 1/2" D (seat).
Minor cracks and repairs to one leg at joint with standard. Drop to base re-glued. Scattered minor surface wear. Modern upholstery.
Provenance: From a Williamsburg, VA private collection.
