Very Large Illuminated Arabic Manuscript Kashmiri Koran. About 300 leaves (600 pages); size: 21.5 x 36.3 cm; 13 lines to a page, in clear, large and handsome naskhī script, in black ink, on beige paper. The text is vocalized throughout. There are 7 beautifully illuminated pages, 2 in the beginning, 2 at the end. All headings of suras are written in red ink. All verses are separated by a red circle. Undated but most likely it is from early eighteenth century. Full two tone color morocco. The exquisite illuminations indicate that the Koran may have been written in Kashmir.
