GEORGI ZHUKOV
(1896 - 1974) Soviet Field Marshall, perhaps the greatest general of World War II, he survived crushing poverty and Stalin's purges to command the Russian armies at the monumental battles of Moscow and Kursk, and in the taking of Berlin. Four-line A.D.S. at the conclusion of a report on the performance of a deputy commander of the 87th Infantry Corps, 2pp. large 4to., [n.p.], 1947, describing the officer's cooperation, qualities, etc. Very good.
