Description
9th-12th century AD. A silver belt furniture suite comprising: a convex buckle loop with facetted tongue, clubbed finials; a rectangular plaque with stud to each corner, three of five attachment loops to the underside; ten belt stiffener plaques, each tongue-shaped with scrolled ends, eight with pairs of ring-and-dot motifs. 100 grams total, 36-42mm (1 1/2 - 1 3/4"). Property of a North West London gentleman; formerly with a central London gallery in 1990. [12]
