Description
19th C. English Solid Sterling Silver W/Red & White Guilloche Enamel Footed Pill Box Made From Coin *One of a Kind Piece* - This beautiful English pill box was made of solid sterling silver, and has a stunning, vibrant red guilloche enamel finish on the top of the piece. This piece is incredibly unique, due to the fact that the lid of the box was made from a solid silver, Spanish 5 Pesetas coin and finished with red guilloche enamel. The top of the lid shows the reverse of the coin, with the crowned coat of arms and pillars, and the inside of the lid shows the obverse of the coin, a left facing toddler's head of Alfonso XIII, finished with a white guilloche enamel. The pillbox rests on three, curled feet and has a table-like form. The piece was made in London in 1895 year, and bears the English hallmarks as such. The quality of work is characterized by the careful elaboration of every detail. This piece has unquestionable antique and collectible value, and is in excellent condition.
