Description
A late 19th century Salopian art pottery bowl and Majolica pedestal. Round center bowl with undulating rim and raised apple branch about the exterior, on four branch-form feet, impressed "Salopian" underneath. Together with a majolica pedestal, fluted baluster-form, adorned with classical style scrolls. In shades of brown, green, and golden yellow. Both pieces have crazing. The bowl has numerous small nicks about the rim as well as repairs; several chipped and restored leaves, also chips and repairs noted to the feet. The pedestal top is scratched and chipped at all corners; repaired base; and multiple glaze chips overall. Bowl, 19 x 9" high; pedestal, 31 1/4" high. ESTIMATE $200-300
