Karl Faberge Antique Nephrite, "56" Gold, Rose-Cut Diamond & Chalcedony Letter Opener by Workmaster: Vladimir Soloviev (Previously Sold at Sotheby's Geneva 1991) - This piece is absolutely stunning, and of the highest investment quality. It was purchased by our client at Sotheby's Geneva Auction in 1991. This piece was produced sometime between 1908-1917 by the master himself. The piece bears the workmaster's marking of "B.C" (Vladimir Soloviev). The nephrite blade is embelished with reeded mounts, each side is set with a rose-cut diamonds, and surmounted by a gorgeous cabochon chalcedony. Provenance: Previously sold by: SOTHEBY'S, GENEVA ON THURSDAY 21ST NOVEMBER 1991, LOT ? 465. This piece has very strong investment quality as it has sales provenance by one of the most well respected auction houses in the world. Karl Faberge was truly a master at his trade, and is best known for creating the highest end items. This piece is a very rare find, as many of these types of pieces were destroyed during the revolution. To find a pre-revolution piece in this magnificent condition is quite rare, and is certainly a collection highlight piece. Measures: 11.5cm in length (Please see photos for condition). You will never see another piece like this. This is a one of a kind piece, and has very fine attention to detail. The piece is also marked "56" (14K pre-revolution standard for gold).
