Description
An antique late 19th-century Russian gold letter opener by the House of Faberge. Ca. 1890s. The knife has a samorodok-style handle garnished with diamond, sapphire, and ruby stones. 56 gold standard and makers mark OP for Oscar Pihl are on the backside of the handle. Total Weight: 18 grams. Provenance: Sotheby's auction N09208, New York, 23 October 2014. House of Faberge was a Russian luxury jewelry manufacturer.
