Description
Round two stage blued steel barrels, one smooth bore, one rifled with solid matte rib and front and rear sights. Rib marked "H. PIPER PATENTED APRIL 23, 1881 BELGIUM". Casehardened action with back action locks and thumb lever release on left side. Both locks marked "H. PIPER./BELGIUM". Figured walnut pistol grip butt stock with checkered panels on each side of wrist and steel butt plate. Splinter forearm with large checkered panel, double triggers. In very good condition. Barrels retain 85-90% thinning blue finish with some fading and wear on sides. Bores are excellent and shiny. Action retains about 40% case colors with some fading and some areas turned to silver. Stock has crack on top of wrist between lock plates and has been repaired on underside. Otherwise excellent with a few light scattered marks. Barrels and action have a few scattered marks and a few light surface rubs. This combination gun appears to have originally been percussion due to the heavy sleeves at breaches and screws on each side of action shields. This gun appears to have been made into a cartridge gun during the period. Serial Number-121604; Manufacturer-H. Pieper; Model-Combination; Caliber-12 Bore, 32 Winchester; Barrel Length-30"; FFL Status-Antique;
