Item Details
Description
This pistol is so rare, that it is not even in "The Luger Book" by John Walter or "Lugers At Random". This gun was featured in an article by Phoenix Investment Arms. It is considered the crown jewel of Artillery Lugers and one of the best of the early 30's contract guns. All writing is in Farsi. It is basically a standard Model 1914 Artillery. All matching numbers except magazine. Grips are not numbered inside. Even the rear sight is marked in Farsi. The chamber is stamped with the royal seal of Persia. The toggle link is stamped in Farsi script "Mauser". Serial number appears on the front of the frame, bottom of locking bolt, trigger and receiver lug on left side of breech block. Located on the right of the receiver is the Farsi inscription "1314-Model Short Parabellum Pistol" with crown property mark. Left side of frame has the Oberndorf proof with last two numbers of serial number on sideplate and takedown lever. The wooden shoulder stock has the Farsi stamp. Shoulder strap and leather are in excellent condition. Shoulder strap has metal ID plate, original cleaning rod and loading tool. As for the gun itself, it is in excellent all original condition with matching numbers except magazine. Overall, pistol retains approximately 95% original factory blue finish with beautiful straw colors on all small parts. This is a very rare Luger variation eagerly sought by any Mauser collector. Virtually unknown in the collecting world and is arguably the finest known existing example of this rare variation. Serial Number-3536; Manufacturer-Persian; Model-Luger; Caliber-9mm; Barrel Length-7 - 3/4"; FFL Status-Curio & Relic;
