Description
The letter "G" stamped above chamber was a code for the year 1935. S42 stamp on toggle was a code for the Mauser factory. The codes were in use at this time as Germany was attempting to conceal the manufacturer and year in defiance of the Versailles Treaty. This pistol has all matching numbers including the aluminum bottom magazine. Checkered walnut grips not numbered. Strong case colors. Grips straps have turned patina. High edge wear on rails, muzzle and sideplate hump; still retains approximately 85%. Numerous German proof marks on right side of frame. Strong rifled bore and fine action. Very clean example of an early Brown Shirt pre-World War II German Military Luger.
