Description

This piece was probably constructed around the Revolutionary War, as a ship to shore or shore to ship signal cannon. The barrel is made from an English Brown Bess. It is attached using iron brackets. The wood has great patina with some worm holes and age cracks. The maker even cut out an area where the cannon could use the original touch-hole for firing. Barrel and mounts retain a heavily pitted dark patina. Measures 14 ¼ inches long x 5.5 inches wide x 3.5 inches tall.
