Description
American Southwest, ca. 16th to 17th century CE. Huge and showy pottery olla. Redware jar in rounded bulbous form and short raised rim. The vessel was broken in ancient times and repaired using series of drilled holes on each side of the breaks which were tied together using strips of sinew or leather. Size: 16" W x 18" H (40.6 cm x 45.7 cm)
Provenance: Ex-private Olan collection, California, by family descent, acquired 1960 to 1970.
