Description
Pre-Columbian, Mayan Territories, probably Guatemala, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A round-bottomed terracotta effigy vessel with a petite monkey head applied to the rim and long arms applied to the globular body as well as a single strap handle. The vessel sits upon a lovely pedestal with a central band tastefully punctuated by teardrop shaped openings. Size: vessel on pedestal measures 7.5" at widest point x 11" H (19 cm x 27.9 cm)
