Description
"Ville fameuse de l'antiquite..." From De Fer's "Introd. a la fortification 1693." Fortifications and church jutting out into the Mediterranean. Historiated title vignette. Sharp impression.
Nicolas de Fer (1646-1720) was a French cartographer, geographer, engraver, and publisher. During his prolific career, de Fer focused on artistry rather than accuracy, and as a result, his decorative maps often contain unique geographical errors.
