The krater having volutes molded with facing heads of Io, ovolo pattern to rim and upper neck, winged male figure depicted to body of neck to obverse and three winged putti to the reverse, neck flanked by branched handles, tongue decoration to shoulders, body decorated to obverse and reverse with winged allegorical figures clasping hands among swirling floral decoration, raised on conical foot.

Note: This example is a pseudo-krater that is hollow throughout and was intended for funerary use.

Crack to foot with flake loss, very light chipping to rim, incrustation to body with losses to pigments, surface wear and abraisions, examined under UV light with pigment strengthening to some illustrations, presenting very well.
