Description
American, first half of 20th century. Collection of nine pieces of Native American costume gifted to Ms. Theresa Helburn (American, 1887-1959), co-producer of the original stage musical production "Oklahoma", "Porgy and Bess" and "Carousel" by a Native American tribe comprising of a pair of seed beaded headband with geometric tribal motif; a carved oblong bone and beaded necklace; a pair of white moccasins with seed beaded flowers, two circular beaded medallions with flowers, and a two-piece fringed tunic and skirt with beaded details throughout and a small beaded doll. Provenance: From the Collection of Ms. Theresa Helburn, thence by descent to the present owner in Atlanta, Georgia.
