Description
English, early 19th century. A carved and stained oak Jacobean Revival corner chair, having a curved crest rail, barley twist and scrolled grotesque dolphins, over a squared seat, with a shaped and carved skirt, a cabriole front leg, and squared back legs. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 31.125", width 27.625", seat depth 27.75", seat to floor 16.625". Provenance: From the Estate of a prominent publisher and philanthropist, Greenwich, CT.
