Description
F.B. Norton & Co. (American, Worcester, Massachusetts, founded 1858), second half 19th century. A four-gallon salt glazed stoneware jar or churn, having a rolled rim, a tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and a slip decorated cobalt parrot design. Impressed manufacturer's mark and "4" to neck. Approximate height 15.75", diameter 9".
Condition
Wear commensurate with age and use. Some scratching and accretions. Small cracks where handle is applied. Crack to rolled lip. Chips to open handle. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
