A mid Victorian shell cameo brooch, circa 1860. Of oval outline, carved to depict Artemis on horseback battling a lion, with partially scroll engraved surround. Length 6.2cms. Weight 24.1gms.

Condition

Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

Possible replacement near period surround.

Scratches, greening and areas of discolouration visible to the surround, some splitting visible to the surround frame.

The cameo is in good condition, minor scratches and dirt visible in areas, some wear visible to the detail.
