Very fine Chinese Zisha Tea pot, potted in globular form, heavy toward the lower body, gently leading toward the domed lid with looped finial, raised upon footed base. Flanked with S-shaped spout and looped handle with distinctive thumbpiece, having orange-brown underglazed body. This purple clay teapot is characterized by hand painting decoration on the body with plum blossoms in gilt and pine branching on lid. With attractive organic motif carving simulated tree trunk on spout, handle, and finial. All set within fitted bright-lemon-yellow silk covered hard cushion above colorful red ribbon, with two seal mark labeled on the corners; enclosed by a wooden box. Four incised makers seal marks on reverse lid, under handle and underbase.
