The creme-white Chinese jade medallion open work carved resembled encircling single horned Qilin amidst ruyi foliate, with body like a serpent, emerged four clawed legs, elongated scrolling tail. displayed upon elaborately carved hardwood stand. The stone shows grayish-celadon color, moist milky appearance, with golden russet inclusions. Qilin are thought to be a symbol of luck, good omens, protection, prosperity, success, and longevity by the Chinese. Qilin are also a symbol of fertility, and often depicted in decorations as bringing a baby to a family.
