A Chinese scroll watercolor painting on paper. The top has three columns of Chinese characters with two red seals at the bottom of the left column. The lower portion of the scroll features a standing woman draped in silk and adorned in jade and gold accessories, including bangles, an armband and an elaborate crown, holding what may be an incense burner. It has been attributed to the artist Zhang Daqian (Chinese, 1899-1983) and is in the style with which he was known to work. (without translation artist signature is unknown). Measures approximately 52" x 14". Painted on very fine linen paper with light toning and other signs of age, most notably around the edges.
