In late 1940’s, the entire estate was confiscated by the communist government and for over 60 years was displayed in a local museum until recently when the entire collection was returned to the family. Some items are in US and others are still in Europe. The collection is made of 19th Century art, antique furniture, tapestries and more. Some items are still in Eastern Europe but can be shipped anywhere. Also, to protect the privacy of the current owners, we will not divulge their name during the auction. However, each item sold in auctions will be accompanied by a letter from the owner authenticating each piece.For auction a French Empire Style set of 5 Living Room pieces dating back to mid 1800’s. The set is made of Four Arm Chairs all carved and gilded with tapestry and a couch. The carving is just exceptional which makes the set very exquisite and rare. There are stains on the couch as you can see in the pictures. Please note that due to the lack of space we were not able to take pictures of the full set in one picture but we did careful pictures of each item. The whole set is in good conditions and needs some work on filling the gesso, some touches of paint stains and threads of the upholstery.
