In late 1940’s, the entire estate was confiscated by the communist government and for over 60 years was displayed in a local museum until recently when the entire collection was returned to the family. Some items are in US and others are still in Europe. The collection is made of 19th Century art, antique furniture, tapestries and more. Some items are still in Eastern Europe but can be shipped anywhere. Also, to protect the privacy of the current owners, we will not divulge their name during the auction. However, each item sold in auctions will be accompanied by a letter from the owner authenticating each piece.For auction a French Empire Style set of 6 Living Room pieces dating back to mid 1800’s. The set is made of Two Arm Chairs all carved and gilded with exceptional tapestry, Two Chairs with beautiful gilded back and a round table covered with velvet with an exceptional and rare carving at the bottom of the table. (we assume that the marble top was removed with cloth).The back of all chairs has carving representing a coat of arms while the arm chairs have the sides carved with swans. Please note that due to the lack of space we were not able to take pictures of the full set in one picture but we did careful pictures of each item. The whole set is in very good conditions and needs some work on filling the gesso, some touches of paint and one chair need some reinforcement. The tapestry appears to be very in good conditions with minimum wear for its age. Please ask questions or ask for additional pictures if necessary before biding.
