Interesting composition built on contrasts of point, line and plane, high-gloss and matt surface and the complementary color contrast yellow-violet.
Condition:
The multiple is in good condition with scattered tiny scratches on the surface of the acrylic glass sheet. The wooden box displays slight signs of use as bumped corners, occasional scratches and soiling in places. Otherwise the overall condition is good, too. The multiple measures 180 x 60 x 0.3 cm. The dimensions of the wooden box are 184 x 64 x 4.3 cm.
Séan Shanahan (b. 1960)
The Irish artist Séan Shanahan was born in Dublin. He studied in London and Madrid and is now one of the artists who developed and refined the geometric abstraction of the early 20th century. Shanahans monochrome object out of MDF panels are often designed for specific architectural situations and spaces. His work has been shown throughout Europe and is represented in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery in Dublin and in other public and private collections. Séan Shanahan lives and works in Northern Italy since the 1980s. (fea)
