Buddha Amitabha
Buddha Amitabha can be translated as the 'Buddha of Infinite Ligh'. He is one of the most important and frequently depicted figures in East Asia. Buddha Shakyamuni is considered to be his incarnation. Amitabha usually comes in a simple representation without jewelry, dressed in a monk's robe and his hands are laid down in his lap, forming the dhyana mudra. A representation with abhaya mudra or varada mudra is also popular. As a special form of Amitabha appears the Amitayus. He is ornate with precious jewelry and equipped with an attribut, an abrosia vessel.
