Ferdinand Minor (1814-1883)
Born in Meiningen, the painter Ferdinand Minor worked in Munich as a genre painter from 1836. He created numerous interiors with groups of figures, but also individual portraits. His anecdotal motifs show an extremely skillful and fine brushwork in expressive compositions, which are characterized by vivacity and strong chiaroscuro contrasts. (cko)
