The porcelain plates are in good condition, according to age, showing minor strokes of retouching to the edges. The frames are slightly worn. The dimensions are 18 x 23 cm, and the frame measure 32 x 37.5 cm.
Jean-Georges Baltz (1760 – after 1831)
Born in Strasbourg, Jean-Georges Baltz lived and worked in Paris and created mainly landscapes and portraits on porcelain. In 1906, he participated in the miniatures exhibition at Friedmann and Weber in Berlin. Works by Baltz can be found mainly in French, Russian and German art collections. (cko)
