This is an early W.W. Greener Martini-Henry falling block action 12 gauge police riot gun. The shotgun was manufactured by W. W. Greener in the 1900's. The gun has a trap door or falling block action. W.W. Greener has long been one of the most trusted names in shotguns in Great Britian and was formed in 1829. The British Government ordered these Martini-Henry action shotguns to arm colonial police forces in Indian, Egypt and throughout Africa. The shotguns were only single shot and take unique shell with a rim around the center fire. The British Gov't held all the ammunition and in the event the colonies had taken the firearms they would run out of ammunition. The guns marking are worn but the stock appears to be in good condition for its age. The overall condition of the gun is good for its age. Measures: 42" L x 25 1/4" Barrel Length
