Displays an enthroned sitting Young Roman Emperor Augustus (63 BC–14 AD). Thick Lost-Wax cast Bronze statue, patinated. Done by prominent French Sculptor Charles René de Paul de Saint-Marceaux (23 September 1845 — 23 April 1915). Signed on side by the artist - ST. MARCEAUX, and with SUSSE FOND. & FILS PARIS and CIRE PERDUE (denoting the production process, known as Lost Wax in English). Saint-Marceaux was famous throught France and Europe for his works, and started as a student of François Jouffroy. This is a unique and single-cast piece of his. Neo-Classical period. Late 1800's.
