Description
An interesting Nomoli stone sculpture, from the Kissi people of Sierra Leone, ca. AD 1300 - 1600, carved from greenish schist typical of the region depicting a well-defined torso, with a grotesque, bearded head emerging from or attached to the back. H: 7 ½ in (19.1 cm). Mounted on rotating base. Ex Virginia estate.
