An excellent, large vintage signed sepia 17 x 15 photogravure, the classic image depicting Trumper in a full length profile action pose, mid-shot. Photograph by George Beldam and published by the Swan Electric Engraving Company, London, 1st August 1905. Signed ('V. Trumper') by Trumper with his name alone in bold pencil to the lower border and also signed ('Photo by George W. Beldam') by Beldam in bold pencil to the lower border. Rare. Matted in cream with a thin gold coloured border and framed and glazed in a wooden frame to an overall size of 25 x 23. A few very minor spots of foxing and some extremely minor age wear at the extremities of the borders, VG

An exceptional signed image of the Australian cricketer Victor Trumper, recognised as the most stylish and versatile batsman of the Golden Age of Cricket. Trumper had been named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1903, two years before the present image was produced, and was selected by Neville Cardus as one of the Six Giants of the Wisden Century in 1963 to mark the 100th edition of the almanack.
