A set of matched porcelain bud vases (16 cm tall 6-1/2 in) from the Lyndhurst Plantation, Greenville, Florida. The vases have a Chinese theme with a male and female figure in traditional attire with fairly abstract floral and bamboo patterns. The vases have attached bronze base and finish rings. Each vase bears the Chantilly Porcelain mark in red on the base. This "French horn" mark is fairly unique to Chantilly porcelain from Oise, France. The mark was used between 1730 and 1800. The bases also show the remnants of the word "Made" in the same read as the Chantilly mark and at one time must have read "Made in ..." This is inconsistent with the Chantilly marks from the earliest period, however the motif are. These vases are most likely 19th century replicas of 18th century pieces. Both are in good to very good condition with no chips, the exception being that one vase is missing the bronze finish. The pieces are presented as is and unauthenticated.
