WILLIAM BATEMAN, GEORGE III STERLING SEVEN-BOTTLE CRUET SET, 1828, H TO 8 1/2":A George III sterling silver seven-bottle cruet set. Mark of William Bateman (II), London, 1827. Of bellied rectangular form on four winged shell feet, the sides with an embossed floral motif centered by two small oval cartouches, one side monogrammed with initials, the bottles fluted below a diamond-cut band, three with silver covers, the remainder with glass stoppers. Glass bottles appear to be original. Height of tallest bottle 5 3/4", total height 8 1/2".
Condition
Hallmarks clear to underside, divider, and rims of bottles. The glass bottles with minor nicks and chips throughout. The base slightly unsteady. Wood bottom showing warping and age cracks
