Description

American Late Classical Mahogany Four-Post Canopy Bed, second quarter 19th century, with large turned posts with boldly carved grape and vine motifs, and supporting a broad flaring canopy, h. 101", inside, w. 53", l. 73", outside, w. 76-1/4", l. 89".

Condition

In good "as found" condition. Scattered dings, rubs and imperfections to the finish, consistent with age and use. Some veneer chips and losses along the lower edge of the foot rail. The inside corner of each post has a stamped # 60. Good, old finish and patina.
