Here is a highly unusual (due to it's large size) glass kugel or friendship ball made by the Vergo Glass company just outside of Nancy, France. These lightweight glass ornaments were produced between the 1920s and 1930s. Smaller kugels are used to decorate Christmas trees but this is an enormous 12" x 12" x 13" glass objet d'art which sits atop a metal stand. The ball is marked with the VG factory information on the metal ring hanger. The rich cobalt blue color is highly sought after and would be a piece de resistance to any kugel or glass collector's collection
