Rockport Massachusetts artist Ronald Seager (1930-2005) was an active participant in the Cape Ann art scene. In addition to many fine marine paintings, he also produced several lovely and personal still life paintings. This is one of them. Seager used a palette knife technique on this painting, and it may have been one of his personal favorites. He framed it in a simple lattice-strip frame and entered it into an exhibition at the nearby Bedford Complex Art Festival. The oil painting is being sold as found, in good condition, with no paint losses. It has never been varnished, and has an overall matte appearance. It is signed on the back of the canvas, and is in the original frame, which shows some mild wear. Framed size is 18.5"x24.5".
