JONATHAN D. SERGEANT
(1746 - 1793) American lawyer from Princeton, New Jersey who represented his state in the Second Continental Congress in 1776 and 1777. He also served on the committee that drafted New Jersey's first constitution. He later served as Attorney General for the state of Pennsylvania. War-date manuscript D.S. as Attorney General, 1p. 4to., "Northampton County," Pa., December, 1779, the indictment of man accused of assaulting another. Silked, expertly inlaid, and otherwise very good.
