An ALS from Tommy Sopwith to Joe King on Compton Manor headed note paper dated July 8 1953 saying it was nice to hear from Joe but he is unable to with a history of the old days because " I fear it does not exist " ; and an airman's saying hand written by Charles G Grey (Editor of The Aeroplane) May 1933 " The pilot who survives is not he who is so clever at getting out of awkward positions ...... " ; and Captain Joe R King, Diaries for 1933 to 1935 noting Flights including in the Airspeed Ferry Airliner , with comments and notes on poor weather, and a cash book for July to September 1937 listing accounts for Airspeed Ferry Airliner Flights (6) Formerly the property of Joe King who was chief pilot of Airspeed "Ferry" Airliner part of Sir Alan Cobham's Flying Circus in the 1930's
