Black gouache with pencil on brown envelope, suprematist composition, attributed* to Nikolai Suetin (1897-1954). Signed in Cyrillic lower right. 9 1/8 x 4 1/2 inches. Very good condition overall. Unframed for inspection and post-auction shipping.

Provenance: Originally from the private family collection of Aleksandr Mikhaev, who worked with Nicolai Suetin as a ceramics designer in Leningrad, circa 1925.This drawing was inherited by Mikhaev's grandaughter (San Francisco, CA) in the 1970s who sold the collection of drawings to the former owner, now deceased, in the 1980s. Presumably the drawings came directly from the artist.
