[Gardner, Alexander/Civil War] Alexander Gardner Albumen Photograph: "Incidents of the War. Ruins at Manassas Junction." The photograph shows men looking over the remains of a turntable where the Orange, Alexandria and Manassas Gap Railroads met, after the station was destroyed by retreating Confederates. Printed on mount below image: "Negative by Barnard & Gibson. Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1865, by A. Gardner, in the Clerk's Office of the District's Court of the District of Columbia. Printed by A. Gardner, 511 7th St., Washington. No. 9. March, 1862. Photo 8 7/8 x 6 3/4, overall 19 3/4 x 18 in. Framed and matted, overall light toning, blurring center right original to image, otherwise good.
