++ INTRUDER IN THE DUST. Random House, (1948). 1st printing of Faulkner’s first novel to be published after an interruption of 6 years. Petersen A24b. Black cloth lettered in blue and gilt, top edge blue, dj is by E. McKnight Kauffer with “$3.00” price. Very good, ink from the spine lettering largely worn away, rubber stamping to rear pastedown, “915” handwritten on rear pastedown, faint marks to ffep from contact with an earlier dj cover. Dj has stain near upper corners of dj flaps. ++ THE REIVERS. Random House, (1962). 1st edition, trade issue, 1st printing. Red cloth stamped in gilt and orange. Bright red top edge. “$4.95” and “6/62” on dj. Near fine in VG dj with small tears/wear to dj’s spine ends. Petersen A37d. ++ THE UNVANQUISHED. Random House, (1938). 1st edition, trade issue, 1st printing: The 2 human figures on front cover are red (not blue), and are enclosed in navy blue wreath. Gray cloth, spine lettered in rust red and black. Top edge is bright red. (Consistent with Petersen A18b. Petersen A18a describes a reddish-brown top edge, but this might reflect dfferent degrees of surface wear without bibliographic significance.) Spine and eps toned, minor surface staining to covers, text very good. Dj clipping pasted down to faep, bookplate removed from ffep. ++ LIGHT IN AUGUST. Harrison Smith & Robert Haas, (1932). Coarse tan cloth with orange lettering on front and blue lettering only on the spine. Top edge orange. Very good. 1st printing. Petersen A13a. “Jefferson” for “Mottstown” on p340. Minor fraying at spine base. Bdg weak at pp330-331. Gentle crease to pelims. Lacking dj. ++ THE WILD PALMS. Random House, (1939). 1st edition, trade issue, 1st printing: Both the spine and front cover are lettered in gold with green rules. Beige cloth, green top edge. Fraying to spine ends and corners, spine toned, text very good. Lacking dj.
