German Walther P. 38 pistol obtained by General Joseph H. Harper in Holland in November 1944. Leather holster with additional magazine. Note from General Harper.

Provenance: Consigned by General Harper's grandson. Joseph H. "Bud" Harper (May 1, 1901 – August 8, 1990) is best known for delivering General Anthony McAuliffe's response "Nuts" to German demands for surrender during the Siege of Bastogne.
