Description
A Sabaean carved stone plaque depicting a ram, c. 3rd – 1st Century BC, the ram is depicted stylized, standing to left, with curved horns and raised tail, incised lines on the body and horns. The opposite side bears three Sabaean letters, four characters perhaps from another language above. 4 in x 3 3/8 in (10.2 x 8.6 cm). Nicely patinated and quite interesting. Ex Chicago private collection.
