Description
Rare Maya Tripod Cylinder Vessel depicting God Ek Chuaj from El Salvador, ca. 800-1000 A.D. Ek Chuaj is shown on both sides in black and is intertwined with serpents and holding his burden and weapons. Ek Chuaj holds various meanings depending upon the contexts in which he is depicted. His principal associations are with trade and cacao use. A fine example! 6-13/16" in height.
