This unique motorcycle is an original factory model and has never been optimized or modified. The bike was part of a collection for a long time and has a fine patina. The Ala d’Oro 125 GP comes with original Ceriani forks, Fontana magnesium brake, 32 mm Dell’Orto carburetor and an original racing ignition.

Just 50 units of this small and light-weight racing bike were built by Aermacchi (later Aermacchi-Harley Davidson), an Italian company with a long history. The motorcycle's name translates to “Golden Wing“. In 1958 a bike based on the Ala Rossa, built by the Italian manufacturer Aeronautica Macchi, was presented at the Italian road race championship. A year later a next development stage with 20.8 hp (15.3 kW) was realized, reaching a maximum speed of 160 km/h. This motorcycle was able to compete against the Moto Morini Settebello in Italian youth championships and in motorbike mountain rallies. From the 1960s on Aermacchi expanded its racing presence to the 125 class with a one cylinder engine. Alberto Pagani tested the bike and finished ninth in the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa, just a week later he made rank 5. Over the following years the motorbike was revised and improved. Eventually, the bikes of the Aermacchi race drivers for the motorcycle world championship in 1968 were equipped with 350 short-stroke engines. With a maximum speed of 210 km/h the Australian finished third. Over the following years the bike won many races in the 350 and 500 class.
