Harold Harvey (1874-1941) was a member of the Newlyn School of Painters. He was born in Penzance, Cornwall. He commenced his artistic training under Norman Garstin (1847-1926). Afterwards he travelled to France to study at The Academie Julian. His first exhibit at The Royal Academy was in 1898. He exhibited here regularly between 1907 and 1941. He also exhibited 18 works at The Royal Hibernian Academy between 1928 and 1939. He painted landscapes, portraits, interior scenes and coastal views. Throughout his career he depicted scenes of daily life in Cornwall: fisherfolk and farm labourers.
His paintings can be seen at The National Museum of Wales, Cardiff; The Plymouth Art Gallery; Penlee House Art Gallery; and The Royal Cornwall Museum.15 x 19 inches (38 x 48 cm.)
