Description
Chinese, 1522-1556), Ming Dynasty Jiajing Period mark, (likely 20th century. A large and impressive six lobed porcelain dragon jar with high shouldered round body and constricted neck under everted six-lobe mouth, the whole decorated with six green, blue, and yellow five-clawed serpentine dragons in flight amid cloud scrolls and pearls, two with floating peach forms above them enclosed around auspicious characters, the ground with deep sanguine glaze. Marked to shoulder with six character Jiajing imperial reign mark in single line. Approximate height 19.875", diameter 18".
